About Me

My work is inspired by the things and places that I love - trees, flowers, home, forests, the sea, a great cliff… Born in Northern Ireland, I enjoyed living in the countryside and by the coast and these two settings are where I feel most content. I hope that comes across in my work.

Working mainly in acrylics with palette knives (and sometimes whatever tool comes to hand!), texture is a big part of what I set out to achieve when I am creating a piece. The barnacles on a rock, the way that plants layer as you look through them, the decay of wood in an old fence, the swoosh of a cloud when the weather is unsettled. I want you to get up close to my paintings and touch them.

Having worked in the corporate world for many years, art and creating are things that I have always held on to - my escape, if you like. I am never happier than when I have a creative project to be getting on with.
