Space to Think

This is a painting of the coastline around County Down in Northern Ireland. It’s rocky and windy and can be very wild but incredibly beautiful. I come to this little beach when I am there and need to clear my head.

Durdle Door
Durdle Door

This painting, looking back at Durdle Door on what turned out to be a particularly long and very hilly walk, reminds me just how beautiful our coastline is and why we need to protect it. Our landscape is very precious and we need to look after it if we want to be able to enjoy special places like this.

South West Path
South West Path

The South West is a place that I adore and the Coastal Path has lots of places where you can just stop, take a moment and breathe. If you stand in this spot you can see for miles. Painted alongside Stop and Breathe.

The Waiting
The Waiting

We all wait for things, sometimes we don’t even know what we are waiting for. A storm? A friend? An idea? Something to appear on the horizon to fill us with joy or something deeper.

Looking Back
Looking Back

The coastline around the Ards Peninsula in Northern Ireland has the most beautiful windswept beaches and rocks that reach out into the sea. Just off the seaside town of Donaghadee you will find the Copeland Islands, important for populations of sea birds and coastal plants. They are truly magical to visit. This painting looks back towards the town from the Copelands.

I love valerian - they can live pretty much anywhere and are true survivors. There are always lots of them in Hope Cove when we visit and their colour just makes me smile.
